A monastic heritage centre located near Churchill, County Donegal

The centre has an interpretive exhibition featuring Saint Colmcille [Columba], Patriarch of the Irish Monasticism and Scottish Church. The story is told with artistically designed banners, stained glass, illustrated panels, artifacts, a wax model with authentic clothing and a step-by-step illustration of ancient manuscript fabrication.A tour of the centre also includes an audiovisual on the life of Saint Colmcille. A special tapestry display portraying the Derryveagh Evictions is also on show within the centre.There are also lovely nature and lake front walks.

Directions to Colmcille Heritage Centre - Churchill

The Colmcille Heritage Centre is located 13 miles North West of Letterkenny on the R250 branching to the R251. Drive straight through Church Hill village and follow the signs for the centre, which is located on the shores of Lough Gartan.
