Killybegs is a busy fishing port in an inlet of Donegal Bay. Killybegs is also famous for its hand-knotted carpets. Carpets from Killybegs are known as Donegals and have ended up in places such as Dublin Castle, The Vatican, The White House and Buckingham Palace. The factory was closed for years but was reopened in 1999 by a petition to the Irish Government.
