M&S launches mince pies for customers who hate them in quirky Christmas range

Marks & Spencer has unveiled its 2026 Christmas food range, blending playful novelty with familiar festive flavours. The collection includes unconventional sweet-savoury items and hands-on party kits that aim to reshape holiday menus this season.

New takes on mince pies

Rather than sticking to the classic spiced, dried-fruit filling, M&S is offering alternatives designed for guests who usually skip traditional mince pies. At the centre of the launch is the Malt, Caramel & Milk Chocolate Cookie Pie, a dessert-style pie that replaces the usual mince with a cookie-inspired filling.

New mince-pie alternatives include cookie-style fillings and fruit-forward twists.

The retailer has also introduced an Amarena Cherry, Blood Orange & Port Mince Pie, sold as a pack of four for €5, positioning itself as a seasonal option for those who want a fruit-forward twist.

Spreads and surprising textures

One striking novelty is the Custard Cream Spread, a smooth paste made from the flavour profile of the classic British biscuit. Its buttery, spreadable texture — designed to compete with products like Biscoff spread — has already drawn attention for turning a familiar biscuit into a lunchtime condiment.

Party food reimagined

M&S has pushed creative boundaries in its party-food selection. A do-it-yourself Christmas Charcuterie-tree kit invites hosts to assemble a three-dimensional tower of cured meats, cheeses and olives on the table, rather than serving a conventional platter.

For small-plate entertaining, the chain is selling bite-sized lasagna cups (€10). These compact, handheld pastries layer pasta, beef ragu and béchamel into a muffin-like shape, offering the flavours of lasagne in a finger-food format.

The range also includes a deep-dish, Detroit-style Christmas pizza topped with roast-dinner elements: chicken, pork stuffing, bacon and a drizzle of cranberry sauce over a rich tomato-and-cheese base. The product is presented as a crossover between a takeaway and a festive roast.
