Cork City is the third largest city in Ireland and is delightfully situated at the mouth of the beautiful river Lee.

The history of Cork commences with the foundation of St. Finnbars monastery in the 6th/7th century. The Saint who died in 630 sited his monastery on a small island surrounded by swamp land. The river Lee flows through the city in two channels, which are spanned by numerous bridges.
