Fermoy County CorkFermoy - Mainistir Fhear Maí - The Monastery of the Men of the PlainFermoy is a beautiful garrison town situated on the main Cork to Dublin road. Fermoy was built as a gerrison town at the end of the 18th century by the Scottish-born John Anderson. Close by is Hyde Castle, the ancestral home of Douglas Hyde the first president of Ireland.
