Taste of Dublin returns for a glamorous, food-filled summer weekend

Show summary Hide summary

Taste of Dublin returns to Merrion Square from Thursday, June 11 to Sunday, June 14, bringing four days of food, drink and live entertainment to the city centre. The festival stages eight separate sessions across the weekend, offering a concentrated chance to sample signature dishes and off-menu specials from a wide range of restaurants and producers.

A compact, city-centre food festival

The event turns the square into a roaming food market where visitors can move between stalls and pop-up kitchens, tasting small plates and international flavours in one place. Organisers say the festival blends established restaurants with artisan producers, from cured goods to specialty oils.

For many, the appeal is simple: several hours of eating without the logistics of booking multiple tables. The hardest decision may be choosing what to try first.

Who’s on the menu

Among this year’s participants are names serving bold and familiar street-food styles. Expect Mexican flavours from Parrilla and Indian street dishes from Daata. A headline collaboration — Chimac X Sicín Sásta — is likely to attract plenty of attention.

Other vendors include Gorditas, MOO’D and Bake It Happen, offering a mix of savoury and sweet options that make it easy to abandon any diet plans for the afternoon.

Drinks, demos and atmosphere

The festival also places a clear emphasis on drinks and live programming. There will be a Teeling Whiskey Bar, an O’Hara’s Craft Beer Village and the SuperValu Specially Sourced Wine Experience for those who want to explore beverages alongside their food.

Cooking demonstrations and masterclasses feature several respected names from Ireland and beyond. Visitors can watch live kitchen skills and hear from chefs such as Edward Hayden, Gareth Mullins and Canarian chef Adrián Brusel.

Music and entertainment run throughout each session, creating a social atmosphere where a quick drink can easily stretch into a full afternoon of sampling and discovery.

Whether you’re a serious food fan or simply after a lively summer day out, Taste of Dublin packs a lot into a small, walkable footprint. Practical tip: comfortable shoes and stretchy trousers are recommended.
