Glamour and expectation set the tone as organisers hosted the launch event for the 2026 Galway Races season. The gathering gave racing fans and fashion followers an early glimpse of what to expect at Ballybrit this summer.

Standout style on show

One of the most talked-about looks came from Jennifer Wrynne, who arrived in a striking pink outfit by LA label Simkhai. The dress combined a fitted jumper-style bodice with a dropped waist and a full skirt featuring a bubble hem and pleats.

Wrynne has previously worn the same design in white, notably at the launch of the Style Awards, where she matched outfits with Niamh de Brún.

Industry names and organisers present

The launch drew several familiar faces from the Irish fashion and racing scenes. Milliner Emily Jean Byrne was among the guests, along with Mandy Maher, who serves as head judge of Ladies’ Day, and Marietta Doran, who hosts Athlone Town Centre’s Friday’s Most Stylish competition.

Mandy Maher and Marietta Doran later took the stage for a preview session, joined by trainer Gordon Elliott and event host Ollie Turner.

What’s new at Ballybrit

Organisers used the event to highlight planned changes to the racecourse. Attendees were shown proposals for an expanded Beauty Paddock and the addition of a cocktail bar among the hospitality upgrades.

When and who will attend

The Galway Racing Festival is scheduled to run from 27 July to 2 August 2026. Organisers expect more than 130,000 people to attend across the week of racing, fashion and social events.

A photographic gallery accompanied coverage of the launch, offering further views of the outfits and atmosphere on the day.
