According to the guide’s assessment, the restaurant’s plates are driven by excellent produce, precise culinary technique and a clear sense of flavour balance. Reviewers pointed to several dishes that illustrate that approach, notably a strawberry soufflé served with white chocolate and ginger sauce.

The inclusion reflects more than a single standout course. Inspectors highlighted the consistent harmony across the menu, where contrasts and textures are carefully calibrated.
A cellar and a setting to match
The Falls Restaurant also benefits from an extensive wine programme. The hotel houses around 450 wines, many kept in one of Ireland’s most notable cellars.
Visitors reach the hotel by a path through parkland to a property that sits on the edge of Kenmare Bay. From the dining room, guests may sometimes glimpse the lodge’s waterfalls, a defining feature of the site.
Heritage and broader recognition
Sheen Falls Lodge began life as a 17th-century fishing lodge and has since been developed into an award-winning five-star resort. The property offers a mix of leisure options, from spa treatments to activities such as falconry.
The hotel’s Michelin Guide entry adds to an established list of honours. It was named in Travel + Leisure’s World’s Best Awards 2026 and was voted Best Resort in Europe in the Condé Nast Traveller Readers’ Choice Awards 2025.
The Falls Restaurant is one of 111 venues listed in the Republic of Ireland’s Michelin Guide, with a further 15 entries recorded for Northern Ireland.
