Taste of Kildare weekend brings hundreds of tasty options

Show summary Hide summary

Taste of Kildare returns to Naas Racecourse on 15 and 16 August, bringing two days of food stalls, chef demos and family entertainment to the county. The festival gathers local producers, restaurants and live music in one place—an event designed for food lovers and families alike.

A showcase of Kildare producers

The festival’s undercover market concentrates the county’s culinary makers under one roof, from artisan cheesemakers and cured meats to small-batch preserves, craft beer and locally produced cider. Visitors can meet producers, hear their stories and buy products directly from the people who make them.

It’s an efficient way to sample the county’s flavours and to discover independent brands you might not find elsewhere. Expect a mix of premium ingredients and ready-to-eat treats to take home.

Chefs, demonstrations and workshops

Cooking stages scheduled across the weekend will feature well-known names from Ireland’s food scene. Demonstrations on the Calor gas chef demo stage include appearances by Aisling Larkin, Kevin Dundon, Eva Pau, Adrian Martin, Philip Gleason and Graham Herterich, among others.

Alongside live demos there will be tastings and interactive sessions aimed at home cooks. The programme is designed to be more than a market—it’s a place to learn techniques and pick up practical tips from professionals.

Live music and family-friendly activities

Music adds to the festival atmosphere with performances from groups such as Newbridge Gospel Choir, Spring Break, Casa Disco, Noughty Tribute and Cliona Hagan. The lineup is spread across the two days to keep the site lively.

Families are catered for with a dedicated Family Zone. Children under 10 enter free and can enjoy face painting, outdoor games and a pet farm provided by Nore Valley Park, making the event suitable for younger visitors as well as serious food fans.

Organisers, sponsors and practical details

Taste of Kildare is organised by Into Kildare with support from Kildare County Council and the Local Enterprise Office. The event is also backed by sponsors including the Queally Group, Keadeen Hotel, Kilashee Hotel, Fitzpatricks Garages and Calor Gas.

Tickets start from €10, with free admission for children under 10. The festival’s mix of producers, chefs and live entertainment aims to offer a full weekend of local flavour and hands-on experiences.

Plan to arrive hungry—there will be plenty to taste, buy and take home.
