Katie Taylor will bring her professional boxing career to a close at Croke Park this weekend, headlining a sold-out show against undefeated French challenger Flora Pili. The event, scheduled for Saturday, September 5, is expected to pack more than 80,000 spectators into the GAA stadium for what organisers are billing as a homecoming finale.
A homecoming at Croke Park
The Dublin native has long wanted a major fight on Irish soil and will finally step into the ring at Croker. Organisers say the match is the first high-profile boxing bout staged at Croke Park since Muhammad Ali defeated Alvin ‘Blue’ Lewis in 1972.

Ticketing was priced to encourage attendance across households. Around a quarter of available seats were set at under €40 (before Ticketmaster service charges), and a family of four could buy tickets for €125.50. Despite those concessions, gate receipts are expected to approach €7 million.
Broadcast and commercial setup
Internationally the fight will stream on DAZN. In Ireland, domestic coverage will be available on RTÉ television, RTÉ Player and 2FM, offering multiple ways for audiences to follow the bout.
RTÉ is reportedly marketing advertising inventory around the broadcast, with packages starting at €30,000 and higher-value slots carrying a premium of roughly 30%.
Sponsorship for the event includes supermarket chain Lidl Ireland as title event partner. Taylor also has commercial partnerships with brands such as Everlast, Champion, Aer Lingus, Irish wellness company Sisú and the soft drink brand Fizzique, of which she is a co-owner.
Titles, history and what’s at stake
All of Taylor’s major belts — the WBO, WBA, IBF and the Ring Magazine titles — will be defended, alongside the vacant WBC Super Lightweight Championship. A win would see the London 2012 Olympic gold medallist chase a rare third undisputed world crown as she retires from the sport.
Financial picture
Across a decade in the paid ranks, Taylor’s career earnings and related income are widely estimated at around $20 million (€17.2m). That total reportedly includes roughly $9 million (€7.7m) for her Madison Square Garden victory over Amanda Serrano last year; in the three encounters with Serrano she is believed to have earned about $16 million.

Reports suggest the Croke Park purse will be smaller than some recent headline fights, with the overall purse variously put between €3 million and €6 million. Taylor is expected to receive at least €2 million from the event.
Company accounts
Public filings for Taylor’s Irish-registered company, KT Sports Ltd, show retained earnings of €1.46 million as of June 2025. The company recorded losses in two consecutive years — €48,335 in 2024 and €64,872 in 2025 — while director remuneration remained unchanged at €52,068.
