Ola, 43, posted a personal statement describing an emotionally difficult few months and praising her six-year-old daughter as a source of comfort. She wrote that “There have been moments this summer when my heart has felt heavier than I ever imagined it could,” and added that through the uncertainty “my beautiful girl, Ella” has remained a constant.
Ola described spending the holidays with Ella — making memories, laughing and seeking solace in everyday moments. She thanked those who have reached out, saying: “Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Your love and support have meant more to me than you will ever know.”

Friends told media the separation came as a shock because the pair often appeared united publicly, though some close to them said the decision was probably right in the long term. A friend said James, 48, has not been “in a good place,” and that after “open and honest discussions” the couple opted to go their separate ways.
The Jordans’ manager and friend, Vickie White, confirmed the situation in a brief statement. She said the pair began a trial separation some time ago and that their shared priority remains co-parenting their daughter. White asked for understanding as the family works through the period.
Those close to the couple also told reporters Ola has removed both her wedding ring and the engagement ring James gave her in 2001, and that the couple are focused on keeping things stable for Ella.

James and Ola met in the late 1990s and started dating in 1999. They were due to mark their 23rd wedding anniversary this October and welcomed daughter Ella in February 2020.
Both have previously spoken candidly about marriage and its challenges. James has said that “Marriage can be like a job sometimes, you’ve got to work at it,” while Ola has warned against comparing real life with polished social media images, noting that “No one’s got a perfect marriage.”
