A body has been found in the search for three-year-old Noah Woods, who disappeared after a family visit to a village playground in Suffolk. Police say the remains have not yet been formally identified, and the discovery is being treated as “not suspicious but unexplained.”
Where Noah was last seen
Noah was reported missing on Tuesday (September 15). CCTV footage showed him at a playground on Merriam Close in Brantham, where he became separated from a relative.

Investigators believe the child ran down an alleyway toward a nearby housing estate after leaving the play area.
Large-scale search involving hundreds of volunteers
Emergency services were supported by more than 1,300 volunteers as the search spread across the village and neighbouring areas. Officers deployed sniffer dogs, specialist rescue teams and rescue helicopters during the operation.

The scale of the local response drew praise from police, who described community support as overwhelming.
Family appeals and circumstances
Noah’s family have said he is partially deaf and non-verbal, so he would not have been able to answer if called by name. His father, Rhys, made an emotional public appeal asking volunteers and residents not to give up the search.
On a local Facebook group he wrote: “I cannot go another night knowing he’s out there alone, please don’t give up on him guys. He is out there somewhere and I appreciate every single one of you.”
Police update and next steps
Superintendent Tom Pearse confirmed the family had been informed of the discovery but that “formal identification has yet to take place.” He said the circumstances are currently being treated as “not suspicious but unexplained.”
Pearse urged the public to respect the family’s need for time and privacy as inquiries continue.
