A Galway brasserie has joined the global dining elite after receiving Tripadvisor’s highest honour, placing it among the top 1% of restaurants worldwide. The recognition highlights the restaurant’s growing reputation for seafood and seasonal menus in the heart of the city.

Top-tier Tripadvisor recognition

Brasserie on the Corner, tucked on Eglington Street in Galway city, was awarded a Tripadvisor Travellers’ Choice Best of the Best prize. The accolade is the programme’s highest tier, reserved for businesses that regularly earn outstanding guest reviews and consistently deliver exceptional experiences.

Tripadvisor’s profile for the venue describes it as a multi-award-winning restaurant known for its seafood focus and strong local sourcing. The review site also notes the venue is regarded as one of the best in Galway, with seasonal menus and an extensive wine selection.

What diners can expect

The brasserie serves breakfast, lunch, pre-theatre options and an a‑la‑carte menu every day, according to Tripadvisor. It emphasises local suppliers and seasonal ingredients, and the site praises the front-of-house team as friendly and expert.

The restaurant is closely connected to the adjacent Blake’s Corner Bar, a traditional Irish bar that features an open fire and offers whiskey platters alongside more casual fare.

Reaction from the team and recent honours

The Brasserie on the Corner team said on social media: “It’s been a hectic few weeks, but we’re absolutely delighted to celebrate this incredible achievement.” They thanked staff and customers for their role in the recognition.

In a further post the restaurant added: “Being recognised as among the top 1% of restaurants in the world on Tripadvisor is an achievement we’re immensely proud of, and one we couldn’t have reached without the people who walk through our doors every day and the amazing crew who make every visit special.”

The accolade follows a strong run of local awards: in April 2026 the brasserie won Connacht’s Best Casual Dining at the YESChef Awards, and in August 2026 Blake’s Bar took a Bronze Award for Best Bar Food at the Bar of the Year Awards.
