No need to travel abroad: Dublin to open its own winter wonderland for Christmas

Show summary Hide summary

Dublin will get a new winter attraction this holiday season as Everwinter, a multi‑event festival at the RDS in Ballsbridge, opens on 25 November 2026. The event brings skating, a vintage fairground, live music and a market of Irish makers together under one roof.

One venue, many festive experiences

Organised by the team behind Taste of Dublin and presented in partnership with Mastercard, Everwinter aims to concentrate a full day’s worth of Christmas activities in a single site. At the centre of the site is a covered ice rink, designed for family skates and more adult outings alike.

More than 30 stalls will showcase jewellery, candles and chocolates from Irish makers.

Visitors can also explore an illuminated winter village featuring more than 30 independent Irish makers. Stalls will offer items such as jewellery, candles, chocolates and toys — described by organisers as an opportunity to buy distinctive gifts away from the high‑street usuals.

Fairground, music and a traditional Big Top

The site includes a vintage fairground with rides intended to evoke classic holiday nostalgia. A carousel, chair‑o‑planes and a big wheel promise views across parts of the Dublin skyline.

Live acts are scheduled throughout the festival, with performances confirmed from the Code of Behaviour brass band and the Dublin Gospel Choir among others.

Robert Fossett’s Christmas Circus

Inside a traditional Big Top, Robert Fossett’s Christmas Circus will offer a roughly 40‑minute family show. The production is billed as a mix of acrobatics and seasonal spectacle suitable for children and adults.

Food, drink and atmosphere

Food at Everwinter will range from open‑fire cooking and warming street food to hot chocolate and mulled wine. Organisers say the food offer is aimed at creating a cosy, festive atmosphere across the site.

The festival is positioned as a flexible outing: a family day, a festive catch‑up with friends, or a different kind of seasonal date night.

Practical details and charity partnership

Everwinter runs at the RDS from 25 November 2026 to 3 January 2027, with the ice rink scheduled to operate from 26 December. Standard entry is €2.50, and children aged 12 and under enter free. Ice‑skating sessions and circus performances are available to book separately or as part of ticket packages.

The event is working with the Dublin Simon Community this Christmas to support services for people experiencing homelessness, organisers say.

Early‑bird tickets are on sale via the official website, www.everwinter.ie.
