This area is renowned for it's beautiful sandy beaches along the Atlantic ocean including the beautiful Coral Strand. Ballyconneely has plenty to offer the visitor, fishing, touring Connemara and unspoilt landscape. The Connemara 18 Hole Championship Golf Links is location in the area. At the foot of Bunowen Hill the ruins of the castle built by Geoghegan-O'Neils can be seen.
