Kinvara - Cill Ghobáin - Sea Headlands

A tidal port at the head of an inlet of Galway Bay.

Kinvara is a beautiful town located in the South-East of Galway Bay. The famous boats of Galway, the Galway Hookers, may be seen at the harbour in the town. Close to the village is the restored Dun Guaire Castle, built in the 16th century the castle is now open to the public to see many Irish traditions. Doorus House is also located close to the town, once visited by Yeats.
