Loughrea - Baile Locha Riach - Town Of The Grey Lake

This village is situated on the shores of a beautiful Lough.

The area is rich in archeological finds. The Famous La Tene Turoe Stone is situated 4 miles from the town. The Turoe stone stands 4ft high and has been shaped and carved to form a ritual object. The magalithic structure known as the Seven Monuments is located nearby which comprises of a circle of seven stones set into a low circular bank near the remains of a square chamber tomb.
