Castleisland - Oilean Ciarrai - The Island of Kerry

Castleisland is a busy market town located in North Kerry. Its main street is the second widest in Ireland. The town got its name from a castle built in 1226, the island was created by using the waters of the River Maine as a moat. The fine views from the Abbeyfeale road are breathtaking to see.
