History of Listowel

Listowel is an old market town located in north Kerry. In the town's square lies the ruins of Fitzmaurice Castle. Listowel is pround of it's literary ability, Maurice Walsh, The Quiet Man, Bryan MacMahon and John B. Keane, The Field. Listowel Writer's week is a yearly occurrence during the month of June. Listowel Races occur during the month of September.
