Hotel manager Kate Dowling commented on the investment: “We are delighted to unveil the completion of this €7.6 million refurbishment, representing a significant investment in both our hotel and the experience we offer every guest,” she said. “The transformation of all 182 bedrooms, alongside our reception, bar and restaurant, has created contemporary spaces that deliver greater comfort, style and flexibility for today’s traveller.”
New room mix and guest facilities
The hotel now lists a revised room allocation: 164 standard bedrooms and 18 executive rooms, together with an increased offering of eight family rooms and 100 triple rooms. Room types were reshuffled to better suit groups and families as well as solo and business guests.

Every upgraded bedroom is fitted with a laptop safe, mini-fridge and tea-and-coffee provisions, plus Leonardo’s signature DREAM bed—custom-made by Irish supplier King Koil—complete with plush duvets and pillows. Guests also get a 50-inch Smart TV, a rainfall shower, and both USB and USB-C charging sockets. Executive rooms include the additional convenience of a Nespresso machine.
Location and business appeal
Situated in Dublin’s historic quarter, the hotel sits directly opposite Christ Church Cathedral. It is within easy walking distance of Temple Bar, Dublin Castle, St. Patrick’s Cathedral and Grafton Street, making it a convenient base for sightseeing.
Leonardo Hotel Dublin Christchurch also offers modern meeting facilities, a factor that the hotel says keeps it attractive to corporate travellers as well as those visiting for leisure.
