Dalata Hotel Group has opened the Maldron Hotel Croke Park in partnership with developers McAleer & Rushe, adding a high-profile property opposite Croke Park Stadium. The new hotel expands the Maldron brand and arrives just as the GAA championship season gets under way, underlining its appeal to both sports visitors and business travellers.
A strategic expansion for Maldron
The launch increases the Maldron portfolio to 27 hotels with a total of 4,618 guest rooms across Ireland and the UK, the company said. Dalata described the Dublin market as especially strong, citing ongoing economic growth, rising employment and an uptick in business and leisure visitors as reasons to deepen its presence in the city.

Site, transport links and facilities
Located at the junction of Clonliffe Road and Jones’ Road, the hotel sits directly opposite Croke Park and benefits from extensive transport connections. Drumcondra and Connolly train stations are nearby, multiple Dublin Bus and Aircoach stops are within a short walk, and Dublin Airport is under 10km away.
The property offers 200 guest rooms and is Dalata’s 21st hotel in Dublin. On-site facilities include four meeting rooms, a fitness suite, a bar and a restaurant, aimed at both event organisers and short-stay visitors.
Jobs created and community ties
The opening created 80 new jobs. Successful candidates were chosen from more than 5,000 applicants, Dalata reported.
Dalata also maintains a formal relationship with the Gaelic Athletic Association as sponsor of the Dalata Hotel Group GAA Under-20 Football Championship. The company framed the hotel’s opening as complementary to that partnership and to the wider role of local clubs and volunteers in the sport.

Dalata’s chief executive pointed to Dublin’s strong market fundamentals and said the Croke Park location strengthens the group’s city footprint. Jarlath Burns, President of the GAA, welcomed the new hotel and described the opening as another positive step in the organisations’ ongoing cooperation, highlighting Dalata’s support for young players and community initiatives.
