Castlemartyr Resort opens revamped luxury residences ahead of summer

Castlemartyr Resort in County Cork has reopened a set of refurbished two- and three-bedroom residences that combine private, longer-stay accommodation with full access to the resort’s amenities. The upgrades aim to appeal to families, groups and guests travelling with pets who want a self-contained base inside a five-star estate.

Upgrades within a historic setting

Set within a seventeenth-century estate, the resort’s residential units sit amid the property’s 220 acres of parkland. Renovations include refreshed interiors, new decking and improved exterior planting intended to blend the homes more naturally with surrounding gardens and woodland.

The work also focused on immediate outdoor access, with a clear emphasis on linking the properties to the estate’s walking trails and green spaces.

Who the residences suit and what they offer

The newly refurbished properties are aimed at a wide range of visitors — from couples and corporate guests to larger family groups. The accommodation is marketed as both family-friendly and pet-friendly, giving visitors an alternative to standard hotel rooms.

Each residence includes self-catering facilities, though guests may also use the resort’s restaurants. Breakfast is served in Kirby’s Clubhouse, while the Canopy restaurant provides other dining options across the day.

A home-like experience with five-star services

Castlemartyr’s management says the residences combine the comforts of a private home with the services of a luxury resort. Guests receive an arrival hamper with essentials on check-in, and units come fitted with conveniences such as Nespresso machines, spacious living areas and outdoor dining spaces.

Brendan Comerford, the resort’s general manager, described the upgrades as a way to enhance summer stays by offering more comfortable, upscale accommodation while preserving the sense of privacy and ease.

Location and layout options

The development includes different clusters of homes to suit varying needs. The Orchard Residences are tucked into wooded grounds and offer immediate contact with nature. By contrast, the Gate House Residences sit close to the estate entrance, prioritising convenience while retaining a sense of seclusion.

Both layouts are designed to act as a flexible base for exploring the estate and the wider attractions of County Cork, with five-star services available on-site for guests who prefer not to cook.
