Mount Juliet Estate unveils €8m overhaul as Manor House reopens

Mount Juliet Estate has reopened the restored Georgian Manor House after an €8 million refurbishment, a major upgrade aimed at bolstering its appeal to high-end visitors. The project expands guest accommodation and adds purpose-built hospitality spaces designed around Irish craft and food traditions.

More rooms and a restored Manor

At the heart of the investment is the full renovation of the Manor House. The number of suites has been raised from eight to 24 suites, increasing the property’s capacity at the luxury end.

The estate continues to operate as two separate properties: the Manor House, listed with 31 bedrooms, and Hunter’s Yard, which offers 93 bedrooms. Both sit across roughly 500 acres beside the River Nore and form part of Marriott International’s Autograph Collection.

Design led by Irish craftsmanship

The interior overhaul was led by Irish designer Aisling Healy of O’Donnell O’Neill, with a clear emphasis on sourcing work from local suppliers and artisans. Restorations and finishes were chosen to reflect the building’s historic fabric while delivering contemporary comforts.

New hospitality experiences

Alongside the accommodation changes, the Manor now features dedicated spaces for curated guest experiences. A purpose-built wine cellar and an artisan cheese room will host private tastings and small-group events designed by the estate.

Jobs and local supply chain

The refurbishment programme supported a wide range of construction and specialist restoration roles, and drew on a broad network of Irish tradespeople and suppliers. Those efforts fed into the estate’s wider operations.

Today Mount Juliet employs more than 300 staff across hospitality, dining, golf, equestrian and estate functions.

Commercial outlook

Management expects a stronger trading year after reopening. The estate is forecasting occupancy of over 70% in 2026, compared with a 62% benchmark in December 2019. It also anticipates average daily rate growth of between 20% and 25% following the refurbishment.

Mount Juliet reports firm forward bookings into 2026 and says early demand for 2027 has already begun to appear.
