Hilton is broadening its footprint in Ireland with several new signings and openings that add brands and properties to its existing portfolio of eight hotels across six brands. The expansion is expected to create more than 150 jobs and lift the total number of Hilton team members in Ireland to nearly 1,000.

DoubleTree conversion in Ashbourne

Hilton will introduce DoubleTree by Hilton Ashbourne through the conversion of a 156-room hotel near Dublin. The property is slated to open in early 2027 after a comprehensive refurbishment that will refresh guest rooms, public areas, restaurants and bars.

The proprietor, Richard Mc Dermott, said the partnership with Hilton will bring a refreshed guest experience, generate local employment and deliver long-term value for the area. He added that Hilton’s commercial reach and global loyalty programme should help the hotel attract visitors to Dublin and beyond.

Home2 Suites makes its European debut

Hilton has already opened Home2 Suites by Hilton Dublin City Centre, the brand’s first property in Europe. The 290-suite hotel, located close to O’Connell Street, applies Hilton’s extended-stay concept to the city center, offering apartment-style accommodation for both short and longer visits.

Cork to get Tapestry Collection property

In Cork, Hilton has signed a deal with JMK Group to bring Tapestry Collection by Hilton to South Terrace. The 103-room hotel, due to open in 2027, will combine standard guestrooms with extended-stay units and include a restaurant, bar and fitness facilities.

The agreement marks Hilton’s debut in Cork and expands the company’s lifestyle portfolio across the UK and Ireland.

Northern Ireland projects and brand milestones

Hilton is also growing in Northern Ireland. It recently marked the one-year anniversary of The Marcus Portrush, Tapestry Collection by Hilton, the brand’s first property in the region. The group has further extended its DoubleTree lineup with signings for DoubleTree by Hilton Belfast City Ten Square and DoubleTree by Hilton Derry‑Londonderry.

Looking ahead, Hilton plans to open Tempo by Hilton Belfast City Centre, a 144-room lifestyle hotel that would be the first Tempo property outside the United States. The brand’s wellness-focused positioning will represent a notable step in Hilton’s international roll-out.

What this means for Ireland

Hilton’s pipeline reflects a push to place different brands in locations that match demand for both traditional and extended-stay options. For travellers, that means more choice in city-centre and lifestyle accommodation. For local economies, the developments promise jobs and fresh investment in hospitality infrastructure.
